Mayan Riviera

4 ratings

A quiet moment at a lagoon in the Mayan Riviera along the 130-kilometre stretch of Caribbean coastline that runs between the resort city of Cancun to the north, down to the Mayan ruins of Tulum at its southern end.

The Mayan Riviera (also known as the Riviera Maya) is located in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico’s most eastern body of land — the Yucatan Peninsula.

The Caribbean coast of Mexico stretches from Cancun down to Quintana Roo’s capital city of Chetumal, and the southern border with Belize, Central America. Also part of the Mayan Riviera is Mexico’s largest island, the island of Cozumel.
