How’s this for absolutely awesome in-flight entertainment? A troupe of dancers from Kanye West’s Australia tour broke out in a flash mob on board a Virgin Australia flight last week. Their “fly mob” performance (as opposed to “flash mob” because it’s happening in-flight) was to Kanye’s song Runaway and had the girls dancing a beautifully choreographed routine in their seats and in the aisle, much to the amusement of the flight’s surprised passengers.

The simple ballet-inspired show was gorgeous and graceful—even with the guy in the background who was blocked from returning to his seat amid the dancing (and got a nod in the video for it). But most of all, watching it—especially given that airplane travel is often far from pleasant—is just pure blissful fun.

(Warning: The lyrics contain language that may be offensive to some.)

Flash mobs and dance routines in the air aren’t entirely new. Philippines-based Cebu Pacific is known for its dancing flight attendants, who have demonstrated safety precautions while grooving to Lady Gaga, and a Finnair flight headed from Helsinki to Delhi on India’s Republic Day earlier this year featured flight attendants dancing through the aisles with Bollywood flair.

What do you think? Are flash mobs and fly mobs fun or just overdone?
