Love Canada? Want to make your own video clip showing the world just how much you love Canada? Then the Canadian Tourism Commission is looking for you to take part in its 35 Million Directors project and inspire travellers from around the world to choose Canada for their next vacation.

Canadians who want to take part in the project are invited to upload their videos and images to 35milliondirectors.com. Footage and photos must showcase Canadian travel experiences—from a favourite hike to a music festival, a sporting event to dining al fresco downtown. “Directors” are asked to capture moments that will whet the appetite of international travellers looking for unique and authentic examples of what is available across Canada.

In addition to possibly being featured in the final video, entries will be entered into a random draw to win a “Canadian dream trip” worth $10,000. Prizes will also be available for the viewers’ choice for best entry, as well as for all entries that are chosen to make it into the final cut.

“We’re out to create a story from the point of view of Canadians and what makes them proud of our great cities, our geography and nature, our cuisine, our culture, or perhaps the friendliness of a local festival,” says Michele McKenzie, president and CEO of the Canadian Tourism Commission.

The final two-minute video will be debut at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada Congress in November.

The contest runs until September 16, 2012.
