Finding Happiness Through Travel

by Red Hunt

Whether you’re a spiritually inclined person or not, sometimes you need some quiet time to just sit with your own thoughts and figure out your place in the world.

Years ago, I realized that work wasn’t rewarding me with anything other than the material, nor was the work I was doing benefiting anyone else in a meaningful way. My life had become corporate and material. I wore a suit every day for years and years. While enjoyable, I knew something was missing, so I made my first attempt at escapism to seek that missing piece of happiness.

Two weeks later I found myself in Madagascar, a strange world unlike any I had travelled to before. I marvelled at how happy people were all over the country. Despite political turmoil, everywhere I turned I saw big smiles.
